14. SEASON 2009/10

A Year of Frustration

A season of many frustrations - particularly with the weather saw the Club continue to grow membership and the number of teams.

Our Girls section now stood at 4 teams all playing in the Wigan & District Girls Development League. Our U`10s Canarinhas won their respective League.

In a new venture for the Club we entered a team in the North West Youth Alliance League. This tough competition for Under 18`s saw us enjoy notable success against Youth sides from Conference/North West Counties Clubs.

In the Central Lancs Junior FL we had our most succesful season. The U`11s City won their 9v9 League, the U`12s won the A Division and earnt promotion to the Premier, the U`12s Greens won their 9v9 League and were Runners Up in the Cup, whilst our U`16s came Runners Up in the Premier Division and also won the Sportmanship Award.

In the Bolton, Bury & District Football League our Under 9`s Reds won their respective Division.

Off the field the Club continued to explore opportunities to provide a "base" for the Club. With other Community partners this dream is very much still alive.

The Club also secured a 3 year Partnership Deal with major sportswear supplier SURRIDGE SPORTS. All teams will now be sporting the Surridge logo on all kit and matchday wear.

As part of development we were also invited to become a partnership club with Bolton Wanderers FC. This is by invitation only and once again the high regard the Club is held is recognised by organisations within the North West.
