About Us 15 of 19

15. SEASON 2010/11

A SUCCESFUL RETURN TO OPEN AGE

After a period of 7 years the Club returned to Open Age football with two teams representing the Club in the South Lancs Counties Football League. A merger with Aspull Athletic and a return to the Club for players from our 2006/07 U`16s saw us have a 1st team and Reserves.

A great season, with the 1st team finishing Runners Up in the Premier Division and the Reserves winning the 3rd Division - losing only 1 game all season.

However the core activity of the Club remains junior football. 3 Girls teams this season with the Canarinahs joining the West Lancs Girls FL - another first for the Club.

We were once again represented in the Mid Lancs Colts JFL, The Central Lancs JFL, The Bolton, Bury & District FL and the North West Youth alliance FL.

Our honours came in the BBDFL with the U`9 Dynamos winning the League and the U`16s Bombers winning the Cup and finishing runners up in the leage.

Our Charter Standard Development status was maintained during the season, but on a dissappointing note, Gary Hopkins, stepped down from his roles in the Club - after overseeing our Charter Standard administration for many years. Thanks Gary & good luck for the future.

Developments moved along off the pitch - the Civic Hall sell off to a local businessman will start to see the Club establishing a great base at this venue in the near future.

Continuity was maintained on the Committee, with all officers being relected at the AGM and the season finale was the Presentation Evening at the Monaco Ballroom in Hindley.
